Greenpeace will today release a new report on the extent of threats posed to the Great Barrier Reef by the resources boom. The report comes ahead of next week's UNESCO monitoring missions, which will assess the impact of gas-related port developments and other potential threats to the reef. Greenpeace has forecast that shipping through the reef could increase six-fold if proposed Queensland port expansions go ahead.
