    The Federal Government is spending $52 million to help make the breakthrough that's needed to see carbon capture and storage used on a commercial scale. It's approved the first phase of a CCS project south of Perth that would capture carbon dioxide from a nearby coal fired power station and alumina and urea plants and then store the greenhouse emissions deep underground.
