    In the middle of Labor's leadership struggles the latest Newspoll has Labor's political standing at its highest level in a year. The Government's primary vote has risen to 35 per cent while the Coalition's has dipped slightly to 45 per cent. On a two-party preferred basis the Coalition still leads 53 per cent to 47 but the margin has shrunk since the last poll.
